Checkout keyboard QA checklist

Use this focused pass on a safe public or test checkout. Do not place an order, enter real payment details, or bypass authentication.

Before the pass

• Record the URL, browser, viewport, and test data.
• Confirm that the flow can be exercised without a real purchase.
• Reset focus to the browser address bar or the beginning of the page.

Keyboard checks

1. Tab through every interactive control in a logical order.
2. Confirm focus is always visible and not hidden by drawers, banners, or sticky controls.
3. Operate buttons and custom controls with expected keyboard input.
4. Open and close menus, dialogs, accordions, and address suggestions.
5. Trigger validation and confirm focus or instructions make recovery possible.
6. Check that a modal contains focus while open and returns it meaningfully when closed.
7. Repeat at a narrow viewport and watch for clipped or unreachable controls.

Stop conditions

Stop before any irreversible action, real payment, account creation, or step that requires private customer data. Record the limitation in the ticket.
